Ingredients
- 1 gallon jar sour pickles
- 5 pounds sugar
- 1 to 2 regular bottles of Tabasco, the 2 ounce size
- 6 pint jars
Instructions
- Drain and slice pickles.
- Layer pickles, sugar, and some Tabasco several times, filling up the entire jar. If all 5 pounds of sugar won’t go into the jar, don’t worry. Put the jar away and give it an occasional shake or roll over the next 10 days until all sugar is dissolved.
- Put into smaller jars to give away or put some into refrigerator to use on sandwiches and the like. You don’t need to refrigerate these pickles.
