I love food for so many reasons, but one of my favorite things is the way it can connect you to great memories and great people from your past.
Every time my husband, Big Daddy, makes ribs I’m reminded of my father-in-law. Frank loved great food and he especially loved HIS ribs. He cultivated this recipe over several years, and several racks of ribs. What he ended up with is a rib that is unlike any you’ve ever tasted: savory, tangy and rich with flavor. Of course if you know my husband then it should come as no surprise that it’s also a somewhat intricate recipe (don’t worry, I’ve simplified it for you).
Of course, I can’t just eat something tried and true. I love to experiment. So I created a Baked Potato Salad that is fresh, crunchy and fabulous. Then I also made an old favorite, Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad. It’s a recipe you may not have had for awhile, but definitely a heartier salad that you’ll want as we get into these cooler Fall days.
We invited my daughter and son-in-law to come eat with us at the end of this show, so this one is a true family affair. Creating new memories with a recipe that brings up fabulous old memories.
